Two distributors divide Bradford West Gwillimbury between them. Alectra Utilities is licensed for the former Town of Bradford plus a defined expansion area south of Holland Street West, and Hydro One covers the rest of the township, including the farms and hamlets. Summerlyn Village and Bradford's newer subdivisions

The town of Bradford more than doubled in population between 2001 and 2021, and most of that growth arrived as subdivisions on the edges of town. In Summerlyn Village, where Great Gulf built townhomes and detached houses along Summerlyn Trail near Holland Street West, distance to the panel is rarely what holds a job up. The real limit is how much of that panel a finished basement, central air and a hot tub have already claimed.

Newer townhome streets need a couple of extra checks. We read the main breaker rating off your own panel, because a narrow freehold unit is not always wired like the detached homes around it, and we look at which garage wall belongs to you alone, since the wall shared with the neighbour limits where the charger can hang. If only one spot works, we pick the charger by cable length and holster position so the cord reaches the car without crossing the garage floor.

Downtown Bradford is older. A fire in May 1871 destroyed most of the village's business district, and the brick buildings that replaced it still form much of the core along Holland Street. Houses on the streets around it span many decades and many renovations, and the electrical service is sometimes the one part that past owners left alone while kitchens and basements changed around it. Where Bradford meets the Holland Marsh and Highway 400

Outside town, Bradford West Gwillimbury is farm country. Part of the Holland Marsh, with its rich black soil and vegetable fields, lies inside the municipality, and the roads toward Bond Head, Newton Robinson and Coulson's Hill run past farmhouses and acreage lots served by Hydro One. Your commute sets the size of the job. Highway 400 runs just west of town, Bradford GO on the Barrie line connects you to Union Station by train, and Highway 425, the Bradford Bypass now under construction, will link the 400 to the 404.
